Vibenshus Øjenklinik Has Become Copenhagen Eye Institute
Our clinic has undergone a transformation. From being called Vibenshus Øjenklinik and having an address on Østerbro, we are now called Copenhagen Eye Institute and welcome our patients at Kejsergade 2 right by Gråbrødre Torv in the heart of Copenhagen.
But although the name and address are new, the most important thing remains the same. We continue to offer the highest quality eye care, with care and the patient at the center.
Why are we changing our name from Vibenhus Øjenklinik?
With the name Copenhagen Eye Institute we want to reflect the professional development we as a clinic have undergone. We are no longer just a local eye clinic. We are a highly specialized institute with an international outlook. With the new name, we place even greater focus on excellence, innovation and international research.
“It has been important to me that the clinic reflects the professional level we work at,” says ophthalmologist Dr. Javier Cabrerizo owner of Copenhagen Eye Institute.
“When you hear ‘Institute’, it signals that we work with eye surgery at an advanced level. Both technologically and in terms of treatment.”
The name should therefore also be seen as a promise. A promise that we are dedicated to constant development, in order to offer our patients the best.
Why are we moving from Østerbro to central Copenhagen?
An institute with an eye on the future
We have gained more skilled employees and more patients, and therefore we have chosen to move to a larger clinic that can accommodate our growth and continue to ensure patients receive the best treatment. The move to Kejsergade 2 is a natural extension of our development from Vibenshus Øjenklinik to Copenhagen Eye Institute.
We have created modern facilities in a historic setting, just a few minutes walk from Nørreport and the metro.
“It matters that we can now welcome patients in an environment where both the atmosphere and the practical aspects come together in a higher unity,” says Javier.
“We have more space, better lighting conditions and the latest equipment, all with the patient’s experience in mind.”
The central location makes it even easier for both patients and relatives to get to us and creates better conditions for collaboration with research environments and healthcare professionals in the capital.
At Copenhagen Eye Institute, we have a clear focus. Technology, professionalism and humanity must go hand in hand.
We continuously invest in the latest equipment and train ourselves in the most gentle and precise treatment methods, e.g. laser operations with AQUARIUZ Ziemer and advanced corneal transplants.
“As an ophthalmologist, it’s my responsibility not only to keep up with developments, but to help drive them forward,” says Javier.
At Copenhagen Eye Institute, we actively participate in research and collaborate with both Danish and international professional environments to ensure that our patients have access to the latest knowledge and the most effective treatments.
Eyes for the World - our Foundation
At the same time, we have expanded our gaze, literally, to the rest of the world.
Through Copenhagen Eye Institute Foundation we support humanitarian eye surgical efforts in some of the world’s most vulnerable areas. Here we help patients who would otherwise not have access to treatment, and we simultaneously train local professionals, so eye diseases can be prevented and treated on an ongoing basis.
“We work with our eyes, but we also work with our hearts. Both here in the clinic and out in the world,” says Javier.
