Anna Björkroth - Orthoptist (Squint Therapist)
Anna Björkroth graduated as an orthoptist from the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm in 2013. She has a background as a nurse and has been employed at the Eye Department of the Capital Region since 2007. Anna’s primary workplace is Rigshospitalet Glostrup, where she is part of the strabismus team, assessing and treating eye misalignment and binocular vision problems in both children and adults. Anna is at the Kejsergade clinic every other Monday.

Emilie Møller - Clinic Assistant
Emilie Møller is currently studying medicine at the University of Copenhagen. Through her work at the Copenhagen Eye Institute, she hopes to gain expertise in ophthalmology, as she has a strong interest in this field. Emilie’s responsibilities include conducting preliminary examinations before patients see the ophthalmologists, as well as screening patients with diabetes or a predisposition to glaucoma. Additionally, she assists during surgeries.

Hamza Ijaz - Optometrist
Hamza Ijaz is a qualified Optometrist with a Master’s degree in Optometry and Vision Science (cand.san.) from 2021. Since then, Hamza has gained extensive clinical experience and an in-depth understanding of refractive surgery, including both laser treatments and lens replacements. Hamza is passionate about ensuring that patients achieve the best possible vision and feel confident and comfortable throughout the entire process.

Hanne Wienmann – Medical Secretary
With more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare sector, Hanne ensures structure and oversight in the clinic. She has extensive expertise in patient guidance, referral, and coordination of treatment processes. Works precisely and independently in complex clinical environments. Has solid experience with both private and public patients. Approaches each patient with calmness, professionalism, and high ethical standards.

Javier Cabrerizo - Ophthalmologist and Eye Surgery Specialist
Dr. Javier Cabrerizo has been a specialist in ophthalmology since 2014, focusing on corneal and cataract surgery. Since 2015, he has been performing advanced eye surgeries, including corneal transplants, cataract procedures, and laser eye treatments. Dr. Cabrerizo has served as a clinical lecturer at the University of Copenhagen and as a senior consultant at the Eye Department of Rigshospitalet Glostrup. With experience from over 5,000 complex corneal transplants and an active research portfolio of more than 30 publications and numerous professional presentations, he combines highly specialized surgery with a strong commitment to science and patient safety.

Jutta Tuisku-Salo - Operating room nurse
Jutta Tuisku-Salo is a trained nurse with many years of experience in eye diseases and eye surgery. She has worked as an eye nurse since 2014 and has solid experience in surgical nursing within cataracts, refractive surgery (LASIK and PRK) and intravitreal injections. Jutta also handles patient reception, diagnostic examinations and patient counseling. Jutta is known for her empathetic approach and her focus on creating security and trust in patients and contributes with high professionalism and commitment to the daily clinical work.

Mathilde Lund - Clinic Assistant
Mathilde Lund is studying medicine and has over three years of experience in ophthalmology. At the clinic, Mathilde conducts screenings for diabetes and glaucoma, as well as preliminary examinations prior to consultations with the ophthalmologist. She is particularly focused on ensuring a thorough and reassuring experience for each patient.

Selma Juul - Health Coordinator
Selma Juul holds a Master's degree in Health Science from Roskilde University with specialization from Herlev Hospital's Neonatal Department. Her clinical experience has provided her with solid knowledge of medical treatment, patient care, and handling of critical situations, which ensures high precision in administrative work. Her experience contributes a strong analytical and evidence-based approach to optimizing patient pathways. Selma's focus is to ensure that the clinic's patients experience a coordinated, safe, and professional pathway from the first contact until the end of treatment.

Sonbol Ashrafi - Clinic Assistant
Sonbol Ashrafi has over 25 years of experience as a clinical assistant in the healthcare sector, including many years of clinical work with children. Today, Sonbol specializes in eye examinations, patient preparation, and supporting the diagnosis of eye conditions. With a focus on care and professionalism, she ensures that both children and adults feel welcomed and well cared for during their visit.

Sven Johansen - Ophthalmologist
Sven Johansen has been a specialist in ophthalmology since 1993, with extensive experience in both hospital and private practice settings. He served as a senior consultant at the Eye Department of Hillerød Hospital from 2001 to 2008 and has worked as a practicing ophthalmologist since 2009. Sven Johansen is an active member of several professional societies, including the Danish Ophthalmological Society (DOS), the Danish Association of Ophthalmologists (DØO), and the Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society (TFOS), with a particular focus on ocular surface and allergy-related eye diseases.

Sylvia Schlicht - Optometrist
Sylvia Schlicht has been working as an optometrist since 2008 and has gained international experience through years in both Germany and Switzerland. Since 2017, Sylvia has worked in Denmark, focusing on specialty lenses and comprehensive clinical optometry. In 2024, she completed her Master’s degree in Optometry and Vision Science (cand.san.). Sylvia’s work is based on clinical precision and personalized guidance, ensuring that each patient receives professional and attentive care.

Thomas Ly - Marketing Specialist
As Marketing Specialist, Thomas Ly is responsible for strengthening our brand and optimizing our digital presence. Thomas holds a professional bachelor’s degree in e-commerce and marketing and works strategically to develop and implement effective digital marketing campaigns. His focus is on enhancing our online visibility and creating cohesive, targeted communication that supports our goals.

Torben Jørgensen - Communications Specialist

Yandeh Secka - Marketing Intern
Yandeh is studying international trade and marketing at Zealand and is an intern at Copenhagen Eye Institute for 12 weeks, where she works with marketing and social media. She has a great interest in marketing because it combines creativity and analysis, and she enjoys creating content that engages and communicates with the target audience. Yandeh has previous experience from elderly care and a trade union, where she worked with service, advice and administration, as well as experience as an accountant, which has strengthened her structured and analytical skills. The combination of her professional skills and interest in SoMe means that she can actively contribute to the marketing work at the clinic.
