Do You Have an Elevator in the Building?

Practical Information about your Visit
Will I be seen on time?
We always perform a thorough eye examination with all necessary preliminary tests. Therefore, you should expect your visit to take between 30–60 minutes. The duration may vary depending on the specific examination or treatment you require. We always strive to minimize waiting times.
If I Need to Have Drops, Can I Drive/Work after My Appointment?
It depends on the type of examination you need. If your eyes need to be dilated with pupil-dilating drops, your vision will be blurred for several hours afterwards. You should therefore not drive or perform precision work immediately after the appointment. We recommend arranging transport home and avoiding work that requires sharp vision for the rest of the day. Please ask the staff if you are in doubt.
Will I get a New Appointment for a Check-Up?
If your eye doctor determines that a follow-up is needed, you will receive the new appointment via SMS within a few days. This ensures the best possible follow-up for your eye care.
How do I renew my prescription?
To renew your prescription for eye medication, you can contact us through Lægevejen.dk or the Lægevejen app once you have created an account. Otherwise, you can call us, and in most cases we will… ask you to book a short consultation so the eye doctor can assess the need for continued medication and ensure that the treatment is still appropriate for you. This is for your own safety.
Do I Need Glasses?
If you notice changes in your vision over time, it is a good idea to contact an optician, as many eyewear stores offer free eye tests. If the optician cannot adjust your glasses, or if an eye condition is suspected, they will recommend seeking advice from an eye doctor. Children over 12 years old are also recommended to visit an optician.
Should I Bring all My Glasses with Me when I Come for an Examination?
Yes, that is a good idea. Please bring all your current everyday glasses. You do not need to bring reading glasses or sunglasses. This helps the eye doctor get a complete picture of your vision.
Should I Have My Contact Lenses in when I Come for a Consultation?
You may wear contact lenses when you arrive, but we ask that you remove them before your examination. We therefore recommend bringing a new pair of contact lenses for after your consultation. Ideally, a 24-hour break from lenses before the exam provides the most accurate measurements, but only if this is feasible in your daily routine.
I Have a Stye, Can Anything be Done?
The best treatment for a stye is warm compresses and gentle circular massage. You can apply a warm compress to the affected area for about 5–10 minutes at a time, several times a day. This can help open the blocked gland and relieve symptoms. It is recommended to avoid squeezing or rubbing the stye, as this can worsen the condition and lead to infection.
If the above methods have not helped, we ask that you book an appointment with us to plan the best treatment.
Do I Need a Referral?
No, you do not need a referral to book an appointment with us. However, if you are experiencing reduced vision and have not yet had an eye test at an optician, for example at a glasses store, it may be a good idea to consult an optician first.
Can I Use My Health Insurance?
