Consultations and examinations
You can change or cancel your appointment up to 24 hours before it is due to take place. If you do not attend or cancel at short notice, we will charge a fee of 300 kr.
Why do we charge a fee for consultations and examinations?
Out of respect for other patients
When a patient fails to attend an appointment without giving notice, that time could have been allocated to another patient who needs treatment or a consultation.
Appointments with specialists should be booked well in advance
As ophthalmologists, we set aside plenty of time for thorough examinations. Your appointment is booked specifically for you, and it is rarely possible to fill it at such short notice.
Staff time and resources
We prepare for every consultation by reviewing medical records and organising equipment and staff. A no-show means that resources are wasted.
To keep waiting times short
We want to be able to offer appointments with no waiting time. No-shows make it difficult to keep the diary organised and available for other patients.
Surgeries
You can reschedule or cancel your operation up to 10 days before the operation. If you cancel later than this, we will charge a fee of 4,000 kr.

Coordination
Eye surgery is a highly specialised process that requires precise coordination between specialist medical staff, advanced equipment and a carefully planned operating schedule. Preparations begin as soon as your operation is confirmed, to ensure that everything is ready for the day of the operation.
Resources
To maintain a high standard of service and efficiency, we ask that you notify us of any changes or cancellations as soon as possible. This enables us to use our resources responsibly and ensure availability for other patients.
