Javier Cabrerizo, PhD, MD / Clinical Director
Javier is the founder and clinical director of the Copenhagen Eye Foundation. He has been involved in eye care projects in developing countries since 2014 and currently leads the foundation’s clinical activities in South America and Asia.
He is a cornea and anterior segment surgeon at the Department of Ophthalmology at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, where he performs corneal transplants and complex cataract surgery, and an associate professor at the University of Copenhagen. He trained as an ophthalmologist in Spain and completed a fellowship in corneal transplantation at NIIOS in the Netherlands.
Kim Holmgaard, PhD, MD / Clinical Vice Director
Kim has played a crucial role since the beginning of the project, helping with the planning and development of the foundation’s overall strategy and planning the logistical aspects of our clinical campaigns.
Kim is an ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon with a PhD in retinal physiology from Aarhus University. He has worked as an eye surgeon at the Department of Ophthalmology at Rigshospitalet and the University of Copenhagen for several years. Since 2021, he works in various private eye care institutions in the Copenhagen area.
Slawomir Koronkiewicz, MA, MBA / Strategic Director
As a member of the team, Slawomir helps implement the foundation’s overall mission and works closely with the founder to engage new partners and develop campaign strategies. Prior to joining Copenhagen Eye Foundation, Slawek worked in the private sector in marketing strategy and operations in Poland, Switzerland and Denmark.
Slawomir holds an MA in Marketing and Management from Warsaw University and an Executive MBA from Copenhagen Business School.
