which the lower eyelid turns inwards so that the edge of the eyelid and eyelashes face the eye and irritate the surface of the eye. This can cause symptoms such as: <\/p><ul data-start=\"465\" data-end=\"603\"><li class=\"\" data-start=\"465\" data-end=\"477\">Tearing up<\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"478\" data-end=\"501\">Redness and irritation<\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"502\" data-end=\"529\">Frequent eye infections<\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"530\" data-end=\"549\">Pain and burning<\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"550\" data-end=\"603\">In severe cases: corneal damage (blurred vision)<\/li><\/ul><p>The condition is often caused by age-related weakening of the connective tissue in the eyelid. No makeup. <\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"1110\" data-end=\"1202\">Inform the surgeon if you are taking blood thinners or have easy bruising.<\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"1203\" data-end=\"1261\">You can get a sedative tablet if you wish.<\/li><\/ul><p>The Procedure:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1294\" data-end=\"1563\"><li class=\"\" data-start=\"1294\" data-end=\"1371\">The surgery is performed under local anesthesia. If the bleeding is heavy, or if you experience severe pain, reduced vision, or double vision, please contact us.<\/p><p>What can and can&#8217;t you do after surgery?<\/p><ul data-start=\"1993\" data-end=\"2307\"><li class=\"\" data-start=\"1993\" data-end=\"2038\">Stay calm for the rest of the surgery day<\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2039\" data-end=\"2080\">Sleep with your head up for the first week<\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2081\" data-end=\"2150\">Avoid swimming in the pool or sea for 1 week after wire removal<\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2151\" data-end=\"2209\">No make-up or contact lenses for the first 2-3 weeks<\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2210\" data-end=\"2262\">No driving if you can only see with one eye<\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2263\" data-end=\"2307\">Avoid smoking as it slows healing<\/li><\/ul><p>Follow-Up and Check-Up:<\/p><ul data-start=\"2344\" data-end=\"2487\"><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2344\" data-end=\"2424\">You will have a check-up 7-10 days after surgery to have the threads removed.<\/li><li class=\"\" data-start=\"2425\" data-end=\"2487\">The full effect of the surgery is typically seen after a few
